Snowiss Fur Company has been in business since 1926. The company started
manufacturing "Shuttle Fur"- a fur strip that is put inside the shuttle
of a loom that places tension on the filling yarn as it is being woven into
fabric. Our founder, Ben Snowiss, experimented with many different furs
until he came up with the best types to provide the right amount of tension.
He started selling to local textile mills, soon his reputation spread to
all the major textile manufacturers in the U.S. As technology in the weaving
industry changed, the need for shuttle-fur has declined and so Snowiss Fur
Company started manufacturing consumer fur products and leather items, such
as sheepskin bed pads, bicycle
seat covers, and seat-belt pads.
Today we have expanded our consumer line to include real
fur teddy bears, sheepskin earmuffs, fur
slippers, hats and scarves , fur
mittens, medical grade sheepskin as
well as many other leather and fur products. We are still a "small" business
located in central Pennsylvania making all our products in the U.S.A.
by American Labor. We have never used furs or leather of endangered
animals. We believe in providing our customers with high quality products
with unfailing courteous service and rapid deliveries. We take pride in
our quality and service. Our staff consists of many loyal, long term employees
who have been with us for years. They add their knowledge and experience
to our manufacturing and service. |
